Camila Schujman is a dancer and performer based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Born in Argentina, Schujman relocated to Canada at a young age following her parents’ dreams of more opportunities for the family.
Schujman’s journey as a dancer began at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, where she was part of the audition-only Intensive Training Program. She completed numerous ballet examinations throughout her training, including her Advance One in the Cecchetti Method. Schujman enriched her practice through participation in numerous workshops and summer programs. One of the highlights was taking part in a month-long intensive with the San Martin Contemporary Professional Program in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In 2016, Schujman graduated from the Senior Professional Program at the School of Contemporary Dancers. She now holds a BA (Hons) in Dance from the University of Winnipeg.
This summer, Schujman had the opportunity to perform a lead role in a work by Robert Derosiers on closing night at The Canada Dance Festival.
Since graduating, Schujman performed in Happyland and Inner Compass with Gearshifting Performance Works, under the artistic direction of Jolene Bailie. Schujman also performed in The Backyardigans with Koba Entertainment, under the artistic direction of Patti Caplette.
Schujman is delighted to be a part of the Mujer Artista group and is thrilled to be performing in Speaking in Tongues.
